Diabetes Research Institute Foundation Names John C. Doscas Chairman of National Board of Directors
Longtime supporter, philanthropist, and board leader to help guide the Foundation’s mission to cure and prevent diabetes.
The Diabetes Research Institute Foundation (DRIF) is pleased to announce the appointment of John C. Doscas as Chairman of its National Board of Directors. A dedicated supporter of the Foundation for more than two decades and an advocate for cure-focused diabetes research, Mr. Doscas brings extensive leadership experience and a deeply personal commitment to advancing DRIF’s mission to cure and prevent diabetes.
The Doscas family’s connection to the Diabetes Research Institute and Foundation began in 1999. In 2009, when John’s son, Christopher, was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at age 20, Mr. Doscas launched a global search to identify the organization he believed was best positioned to achieve a cure. That search led him to the Diabetes Research Institute (DRI), where he found an unwavering commitment to one goal: finding a biological cure for diabetes.
Since joining the DRIF National Board of Directors in 2012, John has been an active leader, volunteer, and champion of the Foundation’s work, helping advance awareness and support for the groundbreaking research taking place at the Diabetes Research Institute.
“Serving as Chairman of the National Board is a tremendous honor because the mission of the Diabetes Research Institute Foundation is deeply personal to my family. I remain committed to helping advance the groundbreaking research that brings us closer to a world without diabetes.”
