An "Unforgettable" Night at the Donna Karan store, Americana Manhasset
Donna Karan New York kicked off the holiday season by hosting an exciting cocktail reception for the DRIF during the Americana Manhasset Champions for Charity 2011 Shopping Benefit on Thursday, December 1 at their Americana store from 6:30pm to 8:30pm.
As an added excitement to the evening, Hal Rubenstein, InStyle Magazine’s charming fashion editor and author of the gorgeous new book, “100 Unforgettable Dresses,” was at the reception signing his book. Mr. Rubenstein has been covering women’s fashion for over 20 years and his book chronicles the stories behind the century’s most significant fashion moments. The book features legendary photographs and stunning images of such fashion icons as Jacquline Kennedy, Princess Diana and Halle Berry. Hal has served as a columnist on various pop-culture topics for the New Yorker, New York magazine, Elle, Vogue and Vanity Fair.
There was also a fashion presentation with Rubenstein’s favorite picks from the Donna Karan resort collection.
Many DRIF supporters came out to enjoy the fabulous cocktail party and to purchase holiday gifts knowing they were helping their favorite charity. With the Champions for Charity Card, 25% of all purchases made from December 1 to December 3 at participating Americana Manhasset and Wheatley Plaza stores were donated to the DRI when selected as the cardholder's organization of choice.
